The TWIPs

Criteria

The TWIPS (Twitter Wedding Inspiration Pals) mission above all else is to promote, support, educate and inspire other members. Our goal is to create a community of wedding professionals that is helpful and fun, while working towards a common goal of being the best professionals in the industry. As a community with a culture of encouragement and a willingness to help others all over the world, we ask our members to commit a small portion of their time each day to supporting and promoting other members.

TWIPS is a two-way community, where you get back as much as you put in. The more active you are in building relationships, supporting others, and sharing your passion and energy, the more you can expect to gain from your membership.

Membership Criteria:
The goal of TWIPS is to build an active, enjoyable community among wedding vendors and bloggers using social media (especially Twitter).  Members of TWIPs are expected to follow other members within the TWIPS community on Twitter, take time to visit others’ blogs, and promote various members at least a few times per week.

General Criteria for All Potential Members:

    • Members actively engage with other people in the wedding industry on Twitter.
    • Members are able to dedicate at least a few hours each week to building relationships on Twitter.
    • Members have been consistently active on Twitter for at least two months.
  • Blog Criteria:
  • All TWIPS members have an active blog that they contribute to regularly (four times weekly for bloggers, twice weekly for vendors). This is important to ensure they are communicating with potential clients, other wedding professionals and TWIPS members and shows an active involvement in and passion for the wedding industry.
  • Members are legitimately connected to the wedding industry.
  • That can include vendors or wedding bloggers.
  • Individuals that request membership that are involved in a business with a wedding component, i.e. paper supply store, will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Once you become a member you will be asked to add the TWIPS badge in a prominent place on your blog. This identifies you as a proud member of a respected community to your future clients and other wedding professionals, as well as to other members of TWIPS, and is mandatory.

Please review the criteria carefully before applying. They have been designed to protect all members and are not intended to isolate people but rather to create a community that benefits all its members equally. TWIPS fosters support through inspiration, and to do so requires fresh content and interaction. Unfortunately, if you do not have time to tweet or blog regularly, this community is not for you.

If you don’t currently meet the criteria but would like to join TWIPS in future, we’d be happy to hear from you when you are ready. If you think you already meet the criteria and are ready to join this friendly community, we look forward to your application!
