Staying Inspired
Whether you’re already a full-time wedding vendor, or you’re working toward it, there is one thing that is important regardless: having other interests outside the wedding world.
It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the fun and details of weddings, but by the time wedding season comes to an end, many of us are burnt out. We’re looking forward to having our weekends back and life slowing down a bit.
And, the easiest way to prevent burn out is to adopt other interests. Volunteer, read, renovate your home, picnic in the park, cook. Anything you can do to take your made off work and focus on yourself helps to contribute to your overall well-being.
When you start to let one thing take over your life, you lose site of who you are. You lose your inspiration. You lose interest. So, do things that make you happy and smile. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself. And, keep your creativity flowing.
What non-wedding interests help keep you motivated and feeling refreshed?

Such good timing, I always get caught up in just trying to stay current that I hardly get to do anything for myself. And, I find when I start to ignore my basic needs, then my creativity takes a dive. I literally schedule one hour a day in my calendar to go on a bike ride, or hike with my dogs. It’s the one thing that keeps me sane. Thanks for the reminder to take care of myself!
As stated, another great post! My favorite past-time is reading and when I have the time, I get engrossed in romance novels and get swept away in the details of their love stories. I do get to store some of those details in the back of my mind for later “work related” use but it’s always nice to get away from it all, take a break, and dream again, which is why I started in this business in the first place; romance novels.
Great advice – I find volunteering works wonders for my creativity and state of mind!
Great advice, Brit! It’s so true that inspiration usually comes at its best when you step away from something.
I am always kind of amazed at the timeliness of your posts Brit! This is fantastic advice- such a good reminder that the best way to keep being inspired is by doing, trying, and living all different experiences.
love the advice of adopting other interests…always works and helps my creativity flowing. great advice, brit!
